CRTC invites comment on regulation of VoIP services

The CRTC has issued a Public Notice expressing preliminary views on whether and how voice communications services using Internet Protocol (Voice over IP, or VoIP) should be regulated. The Commission's preliminary view is that VoIP services should be subject to the same regulations as other voice communications services that use the public switched telephone network and common telephone numbers.
