The Launch of CIPPIC's Open Information Initiative

CIPPIC is excited to announce a renewed focus on its open government work through its new Open Information Initiative. With the next mandated review of Canada's Access to Information Act commencing by June 2025, CIPPIC hopes to draw attention to the worrying state of access to information in Canada.

During this time, CIPPIC will be sharing the results of its access to information requests with journalists working in open-access publications to emphasize the importance of access to information-driven journalism. CIPPIC will also publish its own short articles, draft policy briefs, partner with stakeholders, comment on transparency issues, and publish a comprehensive report on the current system.
